Constructing Cherry Trees in Bloom: April 15th, 11am
Come away with your own beautiful work of art! Join local artist, John Vanderheyden for this Acrylic [water base] painting class for beginners to intermediate level, ages 10 and older. In honor of springtime, we will paint a scene of cherry trees in bloom on the Tidal Basin in Washington DC. We will discuss one-point perspective and color combinations for making light and shade of blossoms with reflection. Instruction will be on composition, color theory and paint mixing. Painting a Shakori Hills Scene: June 10th, 11am
We’ll discuss line and form, studying different objects and buildings at Shakori Hills. Students may choose subject matter such as the coffee barn, tractors, buses, house, trees and garden. Small set of acrylic paints with primary and secondary colors (optional – we have extra paint)
