The 7th Annual NC Stars in the Round will be happening on Saturday, August 27, 2016. Mark your calendars now for an evening of song and dance under the summer stars!
Here’s what happened at the 6th Annual event last August:
The evening’s highlight was a singer-songwriter circle featuring some great local musicians and songwriters. Each artist shared his or her unique musical talents one song at a time, then passed the mic to the next. The stars included: Dave Wilson (of Chatham County Line), Kamara Thomas, Brett Harris, Steph Stewart, Mary Johnson Rockers, and Lakota John Locklear!
Opening the show was blues crooner, Big Ron Hunter. Ron is called the World’s Happiest Bluesman. He owns a voice that gives people chills. It’s the kind of voice that carries warmth and tenderness, a voice that is unmistakably his own and embodies everything that’s raw, pure and beautiful about the blues.
Following the circle, festival favorite, super fun-time band, Dr. Bacon helped us dance into the night! These guys started playing on the Coffee Barn Stage during the Shakori Hills GrassRoots festival and have found a big spot in our hearts. What a great way to close out the night!
There were local food trucks, local craft beer, and the Lil’ Coffee Barn was open with coffee and snacks. NC Stars is a family-friendly event and all are welcome to camp overnight.
There is fresh drinking water on site, feel free to bring your own cup or bottle. Please support us and our vendors by buying your food and alcohol once you get here. Bring chairs and blankets, make yourself at home!
Tickets are $12 advance or $17 at the gate, camping is $10 per site (which includes a vehicle and two tents). Kids 12 and under get in free!
Sponsors for the 2015 event included: Griffin Contracting, The Music Maker Relief Foundation, South of Cool Sound Productions, and Universal Printing. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor of this event in the future, please call or email email@example.com
