Print-Making & Other Visual Arts

Three 3-week sessions this summer!

Instructor: Stacye Leanza

Print Making, Collagraphs: Wednesdays, June 7th – 21st, 6-9pm

@Shakori Hills

Collagraphy is a fun, easy and expressive form of print making wherein flat, textured collographobjects are fixed to a printing plate before inking, creating multi-layered prints. We’ll explore a multitude of ways to create & print them, including some unconventional methods that don’t require a press to make the prints. No skill is required, so it’s great for beginners! The process itself tends to unleash the imagination, so it’s a great class for some untethered self-expression! Workshop is free and open to the public, ages 14+. Click HERE to register. Donations appreciated. Class size is limited to 10 participants.

Print Making, Monoprints: Wednesdays, July 12th – 26th, 2-5pm

@Briar Chapel

Unlike other forms of printmaking, monoprints & collagraphs do not require much technical skill or preparation, Nancy M 1.2 block prints drying, smso they are great for beginners and people who don’t like to plan. A monoprint is basically an image painted on a glass (or plexiglass) plate, then transferred on to paper. In this class, we’ll be using some unconventional methods that don’t require a press to make the prints. Like the collagraphy class above, the process tends to unleash the imagination, and allow your self-expression to shine through!  This class will be held at Briar Chapel (exact directions available soon). Workshop is free and open to the public, ages 14+.
