Shakori Hills is a beautiful 72-acre turn-of-the-century farmstead with ancient oak trees, rolling meadows, winding dirt roads, plenty of both woods and open space. It is operated by the Shakori Hills Community Arts Center, a NorthCarolina 501c3 organzation.
In the last ten years, much infrastructure needed to support and sustain a community arts center has been built. There is a permanent stage, a well-kept barn (known as the coffee barn), campgrounds, a ticket booth, nice gravel roads, shower house, several shelters and outbuildings, good drinking-water, and a whole lot of beauty. Construction of a 10-stall permanent restroom is planned to begin in February of 2017. With these amenities in place, Shakori Hills serves as an ideal venue for a wide variety of activities and events.
Shakori Hills is open to the public to visit, and available for use by your arts, education or community group. We also rent the site for private parties and weddings, which helps offset our operating costs. If you would like to hold your event here, send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or call the office at 919-542-1746.
